Born in İzmit in 1965, Tevfik Türen Karagözoğlu graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Glass and Ceramics. He completed his master's degree at Dokuz Eylül University, Institute of Social Sciences, with a thesis on "Salt Secrets". Starting from his school years, he participated in numerous exhibitions and competitions both domestically and internationally, and held 20 solo exhibitions. Primarily using the Raku firing technique in his works, the artist, with 30 years of experience, blends all kinds of ceramic techniques from the Neolithic era onwards, producing works in various forms such as pottery, sculpture, and wall panels in his workshop in Bodrum. In his work, Karagözoğlu takes traditional motifs, colors, and forms from our culture, modernizing them and interpreting them for the present day. Miniatures are a great source of inspiration for him, and his creative approach is important in terms of innovation and originality in the transformation of traditional lines into modern art lines.
